Every time I drive up Riverside Dr, I take a quick glance to look at the reconstruction of the old stone house at Griggs Reservoir Park. I'm thrilled that they've decided to restore the home rather than tear it down. But does anyone know what the building will eventually be used for? I would love to see it become something like a smaller version of the old Wave Hill House in the Bronx.

What's up with the old house at Griggs Park?

The City is still working on reuse plans. A variety of projects have been proposed, but they are still working on possible alternatives. The rehab work is to help people envision the redevelopment possibilities. Just shows how older buildings, even really deteriorated ones, can be rehabilitated.

it had a sweet playground made out of wood beams in the backyard when I was growing up.

Anyone know what's going on with this project? I was so exited to see all of the work done to it a year or so ago for a new use, but now it's just sitting again.
I loved that house as a kid! I thought the kids that lived there were so lucky having the river, the playground and the castle in their backyard. Many hours spent there as a child acting out imaginary plays, traversing the treacherous "moat", getting splinters mixed with a unidentified sap that will probably give me cancer from the wood beams, getting ambushed by ducks when you run out of bread. Good times.
And the castle was evidently used to film music videos! Searching for this thread I ran across this courtesy of blammo:

'95, filmed at that castle-like thing at Griggs Reservoir. She wore hair extensions, I wore purple.
It's a long story.
LOTS of hair and glamour shot mugging. But overall a surprisingly well produced video, well done! And the bass player rocks!

Impressive!!
I have a similar photo, I'll try to dig it up. School photo circa 1990. Turquoise sweater tank top. Long permed hair complete with blond streaks courtesy of Sun-In. Curled and teased bangs. Braces. Purposefully seductive glare that ended up looking like lazy eye.

I swear to god, the guitarist (not bassist LOL) in that video looks like Dan Akroyd with a wig on

Ha! you should see him now…he looks the same, but without the wig.
he's a killer guitar player though…holy crap. he arranged (and we performed) a 20 minute Rush medley at the Alrosa once. it was a blast! see, I need to dig up videos like that to sort of redeem myself…or further seal the case against me. haha)
sorry, i'm totally trainwrecking the Q&A vibe.

Chicks dig it! Plus prior to this haircut I accidentally set my bangs on fire while trying to light a bowl while driving, so the mullet turned out to be a very efficient hairstyle.

Are you from the west side or grove city? Matt & I used to date 2 girls that were best friends (well, he actually married his gal come to think of it) so we hung out for awhile back in the day.
