No, just being given a verbal test over any number of subjects while being driven to grade school by my father. Of course he listened to morning edition every single morning as well. A quiz over the capitals of African countries at 7:30 while morning edition is playing is boring for a 9 year old.

I have not listened to npr since.

not to mention the weekends filled with michael feldman and click and clack and listening to garrison keeler.

god i hate npr

Sirius XM radio. I hate all the comericals on FM. I like the variety of satellite radio too. Columbus talk radio is pretty bad.

In college (or at least my last year of it, because the show's only been on for less than two years)- WOBN has The Moneyman Morning Show, which airs @ 6AM, and I only listened to the replay when I lived on campus.....awesome feel-good show...

I'd love to see a community radio station do a morning show, but that's not going to happen in this lifetime. ;o)

I enjoyed the Blitz's morning show with Blazor & Mo before the station's format change.

Now I either listen to Mike & Mike or various XM stations. Going to be more XM soon as we enter the doldrums of the sports year that lie between the end of basketball season and the start of the football season.

Yeah, that's actually what I end up listening to on the drive in, but once I get to the office (7 am ish), I want to listen to some music, and hopefully something I haven't heard a million times before.

I used to have Sirius, and I think I will have to re-up with them, I got a "half off" deal in the mail the other day.

Does anyone know how much of Sirius and XM is integrated now? Are all of the stations the same?

And are you still able to listen to them online?

It depends on what package you go with. They have pretty much identical pricing structures - with the "XM (or Sirius) Everything" packages having 90% of the stations the same, with some of the more "premium" channels on each a little more exclusive - to get those you have to get the "XM (or Sirius) Everything plus the Best of Sirius (or XM)".

The premium stuff is, IIRC:

Sirius: Howard Stern, NASCAR, NFL play-by-play, Martha Stewart, Playboy Radio
XM: Oprah, MLB, NBA & NHL play-by-play, NHL home ice, PGA, Opie & Anthony

You CAN still listen online (or though mobile phone apps), but that costs extra on top of the regular package.

WAGS & ELLIOT on QFM. These guys have been doing a morning show since the 80's and Wags has been at the Q for over 30 years. These guys have probably the most local and in-town viewpoint and comedy of any show. Plus Dan Orr does hilarious parody songs like "Nights in White Castle". They have lots of comedians on who tour in Columbus and always have a guest from a non-profit or charity. Its also very easy to call in and make a joke.

This isn't a morning show, but for listening during the day - if you like business stories and startups checkout the video podcasts on Mixergy.

It should be required listening for business students.

I'm 10 years away from 'it' but when I listen to Wags & Idiot I feel like I'm going through my mid-life crisis on air. Cut to the viagra and strip club ads.

Can't stand morning radio, I pop in a cd or iPod on route to work.
