I am looking for ideas from people who live, work, frequent the Short North for food, spirits and entertainment to see what you think is lacking in that area. What does the Short North not have that you wish it would in the area of food, drinks and entertainment?

In terms of food:

In terms of spirits:
Classic cocktails, great lighting, great lighting, and an under-designed interior.

Chinese take out.

Ooh, I like the Indian food idea. Personally, I'd like to see a small green grocer or bodega in the area.

In terms of spirits, I'm longing for a place that serves well-made classic cocktails. I mean, can a gal get a fantastic Manhattan (or Sidecar or Gimlet) please!?

Preach it. Preach it. Classic, classic.

Indian, A good 24 hour greasy spoon (coughs* coney island), good cheap chinese take out, that creole place that was sniffing around last week, a nice sports bar that doesn't cater to college aged douche bags that are only interested in 5 dollar pitchers of pabst, upscale mexican place, SEAFOOD...

Ethiopian cuisine? Columbus deserves more than one restaurant with this amazing food.

More live music. More quick/carryout food choices. Sports bar with a few pool tables.

A mexican restaurant that doesn't make me feel like I was kicked repeatedly in the stomach after eating there.
A video game arcade.

That's what I meant by upscale

I'm sure their SN location would be good as well. Short North Tavern wasn't bad last time I went and asked for one. Bristol seems pretty keen, judging by menu and response here, to classic as does Betty's and Surly Girl.

> Breakfast food (We've got Tasi and Northstar...and eggfast delivers)
> Deli
> Indian restaurant (great idea!)
> Low-key, casual bar with terrific drinks and huge beer selection a la Bodega
> Underground parking garage
> Sports bar (no, Bar Louie doesn't count)
