I hit Pearl Alley (more in the summer than in the winter) fairly regularly, as it's close to work and an easy way to grab a few grocery items for home or something tasty for lunch.
They've got a nice mix of vendors, and would love to see it continue to grow!

I'm not particularly a fan of Pearl Market because it's heavy on baked goods and non-foods, and light on produce. In the summer, that is - I've never been to the winter version. Not dumping on it, it's just not what I'm looking for in a farmer's market.
I go to the C'ville winter market regularly. I wish they had a good cheese vendor, and of course there are more baked goods in the winter, but the new venue (C'ville Women's Club, just north of Whetstone) is nice.Posted 1 year ago # -
I'm a fan of the winter markets because it's an outlet to get good local meats. I still need to check out the Clintonville one which is actually closer and more convenient for me than the Worthington one.

Where are these places and what hours do they operate?

The Clintonville Winter Farmer's Market was worthwhile last year. Meeting the actual farmers is one benefit.
But the Clintonville Community market is open 7 days a week, from 8 to 10. It's a good venue for putting money into the hands of local farmers and artisans. It complements what farmers' markets and places such as Rife's in Grandview, Hills Market, and the Bexley Co Op are doing.
The Clintonville Community Market's local and 'chemical-free' produce is just about all gone for the winter, but there's still organic or 'chemical-free' spelt berry, rye berry, corn meal, and oatmeal from Stutzman Farms sold in the bulk goods section.
There you'll also find goods from Portia's Creations, Patty Cake Bakery, and one or more Columbus-based bread makers, in addition to bread and other goods from producers in other parts of Ohio.

Cool, thanks for the tips. The only thing I know for sure is that at the Clintonville Market you can sample the culinary skills from the Chef @ the Women's Club.

Auggie Dhayer is the Executive Chef for the Clintonville Women's Club and he and his team put out some great food and beverages during the Clintonville Farmer's Mkt.

Since I work downtown, the Pearl Alley market is great for me. I get a lot of my produce there in the summer. I'm really only interested in the fresh veggies, so I don't frequent the market in the winter.

The Winter Pearl Market runs every Tuesday and Friday, 10:30a-2:30p and will kick in again after the first of the year - through the end of February.
Someone mentioned a good place to buy cheese - it's right there in Winter and Summer Pearl Markets. Ohio Farm Direct (the same guy who sells ice cream in the summer market) has organic cheese. Ask about it at the welcome table - all located at 33 N. Third (intersection of Lynn and Third).
