what are your plans?
That is one night I typically in recent years stay away from bars. (amature nights- NYE and St. patty's day) and cops are gunning for ya. We might go over a friends house who is having a party. or we might go out to eat and then chill at home. Or we might cook at home and chill, who knows!

Oh lordy...I haven't even done a bit of Christmas shopping yet (except for a dog) let alone think about NYE. IF I survive shopping tonight, I'd prefer to find a house party type situation. Bars on NYE always seem to be a let down. I'd rather whip up a bunch of food, have friends bring some booze and go at it from the comfort of my (or someone else's) living room.

The magic of New Year's is gone for me. Just a day when you get a new calendar. My wife and I also are pretty introverted verging on antisocial, so we usually stay in and play cards with friends and family. The Walleye Drop in Port Clinton sounds like a great time, though. Might try that!

I attended the very first Walley Drop when I was younger. Then attened the next 3 or 4 years. I was thinking about going up again, but this cold weather the past couple of days is making me rethink!!!!

sounds like everyone has the same mindset i have had for years too. it's become "just another day." I will hopefully be hanging out with a few friends at mi casa and having a few libations and some board game fun.

A few years straight, we did a friends' dinner thing at Tony's, then back to someone's house for drinks and relaxing. Was about the height of my planning a "big" NYE. After a few of that group moved away, pretty much settled into dinner and drinks with the female friend most likely to not grate on my nerves that year at home.

i'll be at the Hyatt Downtown with my lady for the big event that the hotel has every year with over 10 bands and a great DJ. should be a great fun night. can't wait. yes, we have a room. i wouldn't dare think about driving and i don't see myself waiting in the cold for a cab. Early check in and late check out. you can't beat that.

I was going to go to this, then my friend read that they are doing a "dj set" which I believe is different enough from their normal gig to mean that I don't want to drive all the way to chicago to see it.
But if it turns out to be great, let me know so I can kick myself for not going.
I will probably do not much. Usually we drink, watch Dick Clark get wobblier and eat homemade guacamole. All at home, so I don't increase my chance of dying in a terrible accident.
