    If anyone’s been following this, the Jena 6 post made me think to check. Sounds like there’s finally enough evidence for a strong appeal and hopefully we’ll see these kids outta the joint soon.

    Heh – yeah, I thought about the WM3 when I saw that too, though I honestly haven’t followed it all that closely. I read about it a little because they’re one of Henry Rollins’ pet projects, and I’ve got a friend who’s totally obsessed with all things Rollins…

    YAY there Free , Sort of…

    West Memphis Three Freed After 18 Years in Weird Plea Deal
    Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley Jr., the so-called “West Memphis Three” who were wrongly convicted in 1994 of child murder in West Memphis, Arkansas, and whose case became a cause celebre, were freed this morning.

    I’m thrilled they’re free, I’m still disgusted by the “no contest” charade that was propagated in order for the prosecutors to save face by extorting a young man on death row.

    If you haven’t seen the original documentary, you need to. Shameful.

    Peter Jackson’s new documentary “West of Memphis” is released on Christmas day.

    My suggestion to anyone interested in this case is to watch all 3 Paradise Lost documentaries in order, then read Damien Echol’s new book, then see West of Memphis.
