I'm getting married in Grandview so I'm looking for a place somewhere short north/grandview area to have our wedding rehearsal dinner. It will be around 20 people. I'm not looking for anything really fancy, just somewhere with a room for us.
I've heard good things about grandview cafe.
any other thoughts? I know you guys are good at this kind of stuff.

Another suggestion I can make is the back room of the Surly Girl. It was a surprisingly perfect venue for my friends' wedding reception this summer.

If you're open to Short North I'd recommend looking at DeepWood. They have an area in the back of the restaurant that's probably about the right size?, and there are shades that can be pulled up to convert it into a separate private room. And if any of your guests are at the Hampton Inn, it's right down the block.
Not to mention, the food kicks ass....

Buckeye Hall of Fame Cafe was the site of our rehersal dinner. We all played games after dinner. It was a great way to relax at the end of a busy week, and to clear our heads before a stress filled day ahead.

Kinda pricey but Rigsby's has private rooms for about 20.

Also I think Lemongrass is large enough as is the Happy Greek. Surly Girl has the back room and a more modern space above it. Barley's has the basement and North Market has the dinner. I know Cafe Del Mondo used to be open to special events also. That might actually be your best bet.

It would be kinda awesome to see if Bill and Peggy could cater some Bono Togo? If you are in the warmer months you might be able to get away with something outside at Basi? That is all I've got. Congrats!

The Burgundy Room is a nice option and is super cozy with that lovely fireplace. So far I've photographed one wedding reception there a year or so ago now, with another one coming up in June. If you'd like to see a couple shots of it,click here

I would recommend The Culinary Table. It's in Grandview on First and they catering to Wedding Occasions/Rehearsal Dinners. They have a blog - http://theculinarytableblog.blogspot.com and the beginnings of a web site http://www.theculinarytable.com.
The Chef is awesome. They even offer gorgeous flower arrangements to make the occasion more special. I'd at least check them out. They are having a small bridal show February 22nd and are offering a special offer: Book The Culinary Table venue on the day of the bridal show and the $300 room fee will be waived!

the nicest old school church I've been to in columbus has been St John the Baptist in Italian village. it's a shame most others I've been in are all kinda new-agey, BLEH!!!
Oh, and I like the photos. You might be getting a call from me in the future! (timeline unkown) ;)
what I really like is that they aren't all posed and crap, very natural.

We had ours at Buca Di Beppo. If you can get a charismatic server, the family style atmosphere was a lot of fun.

I was just talking to Scott at Barcelona yesterday who mentioned that they've been doing more weddings and wedding receptions recently. They can easily section off a back portion of the restaurant and he said a lot of people book the patio too. ;)
Might be a good spot to consider. Sounds like their rates are fairly reasonable as well.
