My fiance and I have decided to elope. We are looking for a local officiant to marry us at Mirror Lake in late August. Any recommendations of non-creepy officiants would be appreciated.

If you have anyone in town you're friends with or close to, getting them ordained online is a piece of cake...and kind of a fun way to do this.

We used Elayne Blair, http://aweddingexpression.com/, and were really pleased.

+1 for Elayne. She's who we used as well. Got married on one of the trails in Blendon Woods Metro Park.

I believe Tony C. (aka. Envelope) can also do that. Although he did get ordained online for a friend's wedding, so I'm not sure if it's the kind of thing he wants to keep doing.
It would be sweet though!

I am ordained and I have a license to solemnize marriages in the state of Ohio. Let me know. Thanks!

There was a Drew Carey episode where the priest walked out and Drew ordained himself online to step in at the least minute. The guys were trying to figure out how he knew of the site and speculated it was to throw the feds off from his porn habit.

Grandview's Mayor DeGraw officiated at my friends' wedding on the 8th. I highly recommend his services.

Hey,
I too am an ordained and licensed(by the state of ohio) minister. If you're interested, I do perform weddings. I'm currently 23 and when I am not "ministering", I am playing accordion in my polka band. I am a pretty casual dude, but also am pretty up-to-date on normal wedding TRADITIONS if you're into that kind of thing. If you would be opposed to having a minister with long hair and a bushy beard....you probably wouldn't be interested in me!Anyway, hope everything works out!

Everything he prepared was thoughtful and perfectly attuned to our sensibilities, (husband is Christian; I'm an agnostic with a pinch of southern Jew, thanks to my Louisiana-reared Jewish mom) and we only had to ask him to make a couple of teeny-tiny adjustments. (i.e., I wasn't taking my husband's last name)
Also, what's better than having the name "Lizard" on your wedding license? Not much, if you ask me.

if Brother Jed is in the Oval, see if he'll come over and do it!
