Good signage. Like the font. Now I can be excited about patronizing the place. ;)

A Yuengling Bier Garden?

Anybody hear any updates on The Pint House? With The Pearl opening pushing to 2013 I was wondering if this was still on track to open this fall?

I just talked to Mike G via email yesterday and he said construction would start by September. No firm opening date set yet.

Man eh...
Having lived years of my life in Berlin this is potentially an addition to the neighborhood I would really welcome.
However...
The Pint House Bier Garden.
Is it German or English? We don't order pints in Germany (that would be the UK) and it is called a Biergarten...
I think it is distasteful to draw inspiration and/or attempt to mimic another culture without first having a firm grasp of it.
What I am most eager to see is how seating is arranged... it would be great to have the typical large, communal tables as in Germany to really bring people in the community together!

Walk by this everyday and there doesn't seem to be any construction starting...Anybody know how things are progressing? I'm interested to see what they're going to do with such a large space...

Just checked in with them 2 weeks ago and no updates yet on when construction will start.

The Pint House Beer Garden Coming to The Short North
Published on November 25, 2012 1:45 pm

Construction recently began inside the former Voodoo Denim Lounge at 780 North High Street, which will house the new Pint House Beer Garden this March when it opens to thirsty Short North residents and visitors. Crews are currently gutting the former clothing store and installing new plumbing to accomodate the new bar and restaurant. The roof will soon be removed from the front half of the building to create a 1,000 square foot beer garden area, which was previously planned for the back.

They're doing a soft open today. I just popped in. Didn't eat or drink anything, just checked out the space. It's massive and really pretty cool.
It's also jam packed at the moment. I think they're going to have a hit on their hands. Just having a place that size in the Short North is going to set them apart from the market.
The front portion has an open roof, so it feels like you're in a converted warehouse or something. Really cool. Then there's a long bar that runs the length of the establishment. The back area is more traditional, but still retains a beer hall feel with long tables and benches and rough brick walls.
Pretty cool spot!

First Look: The Pint House Beer Garden

The Short North officially gets its first Beer Garden this week as The Pint House opens on Thursday at 780 North High Street. The building has been completely gutted, providing a raw, open garage-like space with a long bar lining one wall and communal picnic tables along the other side.

I wish their branding didn't have the same look and feel as their other bars, but if that's my biggest complaint after checking it out. that's a good thing.
What happens when it rains?

I assume you'd hang out in the main bar area and not in the open courtyard area when it's raining. ;)
I was impressed by the sheer size of the space. It goes way, way back into the building and probably twice as big as most Short North bars (other than maybe Skully's).
Everyone seemed to be having a pretty great time when I stopped in yesterday afternoon. Ran into a few friends and hung out a bit. Will have to come back to try out some food later on.
