This park was neglected around 10 years ago. Now we have the chance to bring it back for everyone to enjoy. We are looking for volunteers to come out and participate. For more information, please go here.

Woah, that's seriously overgrown! I took a walking tour today. I thought it would be all overgrown in honeysuckle, but that's only part of it. (Count your blessings BTW at least you still have native species.)
I went down to the bottom of the steps but I didn't even try to explore around the bottom - that was all mown picnic area? I couldn't even see a table like the overgrown ones I've seen in places like Twin Lakes.
I also went through Rhodes Park, and if I'm not mistaken that's kudzu at the foot of the hill between ODOT and the tennis courts.

I went ahead of you this morning and cleared off the top part of the stair, at least to the extent that I could cut tree roots with a loading shovel.

It was like discovering a Mayan temple in the jungle.

Thanks Alexs for your help. Here are some of the pictures we took of the clean up: http://highlandwestneighborsassociation.ning.com/profiles/blogs/recent-honey-suckle-removal

Cool! It looks a lot like one of FOSR's events around Griggs. Dang those chippers can kick out the noise and dust.
I still haven't seen the whole park yet.
