Please join Friends of Goodale Park for the first volunteer work event of 2012!
Place: Goodale Park Caretaker's Residence
120 W. Goodale Street
Columbus, Ohio 43215
Date: Saturday, February 25th, 2012
Time: 9:00am-12:00pm
Our focus for this first work day (weather permitting, of course) is to cut down the tall grasses around the pond. We'll also be picking up trash throughout the park. Immediately following the work day, we'll head to North Market for lunch.
If you can't make it to this weekend's work day, don't worry! There are many more opportunities coming up in 2012:
Saturday, March 24th 9:00am-12:00pm
Saturday, April 14th 9:00am-12:00pm (Earth Day Work Day)
Saturday, May 12th 9:00am-12:00pm (Planting Day)
Saturday, June 2nd 9:00am-12:00pm
Saturday, June 9th 9:00am-12:00pm (Pre-Festival Cleanup)
Saturday, July 14th 9:00am-12:00pm (Post-Festival Cleanup)
Saturday, August 11th 9:00am-12:00pm
Saturday, September 8th 9:00am-12:00pm (Patriot Day Work Day)
Saturday, October 6th 9:00am-12:00pm
Saturday, November 3rd 9:00am-12:00pm (Put the Beds to Bed Day)
We're also hoping to schedule a few mid-week events this year, so stay tuned for more information.
If you plan to attend a volunteer work event in the park, please wear weather-appropriate clothing, as we will be working outside. If you have extra garden tools to work with, please mark them with your name and contact info (duct tape and a Sharpie work best), and bring them with you. Sometimes we just need a few more tools to get us through the work day.
A weather announcement will be posted on the Friends' website, and on our Facebook and Twitter accounts, the morning of the event, so please check before you head to the park.
Questions? Comments? Please contact Julie Hallan, Volunteer Coordinator, at 614-887-PARK (7275), volunteercoordinator@goodalepark.org.
Can't wait to get this volunteer season started. Hope to see you in the park!
