VIA 2010 is a day long event highlighting musicians and DJs from around the world who are pushing the boundaries of emergent musical genres alongside new media artists and designers working at the forefront of video and live music visualization, to create an experience that effectively blurs the division between sound and image.

Organized by a committee of local arts professionals, designers and event promoters who have thus far contributed heavily in their own right to Pittsburgh's art and music communities, VIA is a protocol/collaborative call to action to enhance Pittsburgh's profile as a creative destination.

VIA PITTSBURGH is a first-of-its kind event in the rust-belt region that will equally showcase musicians, DJs and producers who are blurring genres of electronic music alongside artists working at the forefront of video, game design and live music visualization. VIA PITTSBURGH is perhaps nationally unique in its mission to provide a highly concentrated event that equally curates musical and visual talent from home and around the world.

Over the course of 3 days, VIA 2010 is proud to offer workshops by featured artists that
are free and open to the public, over 20 hours of performances and installations covering
150,000 sq. feet of warehouse space, and related programming that is widely accessible to
an 18 and over crowd.

Humanaut will be hosting an official VIA Sunday Funday w/ Franklin De Costa starting at noon, right down the street from the Lawrenceville Moose - the Day 3 location of the festival. Eat, drink, recharge, dance....this is happening in the back yard of the Round Corner Cantina. A mini version of Old Miami. We'll be tenting and heating it if it's cold.
