I'm getting so excited for this I can't stand it. I have no idea why, but I loved the original one as a child. So much so that I own the mini-series, series, and movie on DVD and will probably have a marathon of some sort before this starts. I might need an intervention.

I never got in to Dollhouse though I don't know why because I love Eliza Dushku. Might have to add this to my winter viewing lineup. And yes Summer is pretty awesome too. Must be the name (and she's from TX) :)
PS - I'm watching last night's Castle and Mal just came out in his costume from Firefly. I might have needed a private moment, haha.

Rather liked the older series. Michael Ironside extolling the virtues of teflon ammo for his MAC10 is one of those fond childhood memories.
Well, that and drunk Visitors searching for "mouseies" in a dumpster. Damn munchies.
Probably wouldn't hold up well viewing it now, though.
Some of the promos for the new series have been interesting. Plan on catching at least the first few episodes.

It holds up well now as a campy sci-fi show. I mean, visually it's obviously not going to be stunning, but I think that's what I like about Firefly - it didn't take itself too seriously, but could still have interesting and smart plot lines. You have to go in to it like that which for me require a brain shift because I watch a lot of fairly serious dramatic TV, lol.

Watched it last night... a little under-whelming. Usually alien invasion and end of world stuff is interesting to me. I liked how they played the religion/devotion card but disliked the universal healthcare jab. Has potential and I will give it a few more episodes before I decide.

I thought the last 15 minutes was pretty good, little slow on the buildup, but a lot of pilots are like that because of character introduction.

I watched it last night too. It wasn't bad, I didn't like some of the acting, a little campy, but overall not terrible. I think it will get better in future episodes. Once the action started coming in at the end it got better.
Spoiler Alert: I can't wait until they re-enact the bird head biting moment from the original V.

I enjoyed it. It's not as good as the pilot for LOST or something of that caliber, but I now I'm glad to have something to watch on Tuesday nights. Something to tide me over until Wednesday's Top Chef & Modern Family.
