A lot of Americans are not interested in Soccer, but this win is HUGE. Spain is the best time in the world. USA’s defiant win yesterday was nothing short of amazing, and deserved.
USA will take on the winner of today’s match between Brazil vs. South Africa in the Finals this Sunday at 1:30p. I now have to change my weekend plans to be at Fado’s Sunday afternoon, cold Carlsberg in hand, to watch this match.

Beating Egypt was one thing but this may just have been a sign of the end times being neigh. Of course, should we play and beat Brazil, it may be sign that we have moved to Bizzaroland (or wherever that Tom Tomorrow takes place)

Bradley's straight red for a legit tackle was total bullshit. not having him in the lineup hurts the US chances.
I'm looking for S.Africa to pull off a major upset in front of their home crowd this afternoon. doubt it'll happen, but if it does, it will make this one of the weirder tournaments ever.

You're right, Most Americans and most Columbusites could care less, but a 2-0 win over the #1 ranked soccer team in the World is BIG NEWS. I'm proud of them for sure.
Here's some shots of the last game in Crew Stadium USA vs Mexico. We were blasted by a wind and rain storm in and out of the stadium, but it was worth it seeing USA win. That's Frankie Hejduk's mom in the USA jacket - came from ScCal to see her son play.

BTW it's the Confederations Cup. The Confederate Cup was something entirely different--although some of the calls are still debated. :-)

Spain hadn't lost since 2006, tying a record set by Brazil in the 90s for most consecutive wins.
Spain was the best in the world, and likely remains so, no matter what Kaka has to say about it.

It is truly a miracle beating Spain but beating Brazil isn't out of the question now.
espn360 is a fairly limited service, as far as I can tell. only available through AT&T Yahoo, Verizon High Speed, and Frontier ISPs. boo. You can get play-by-play on regular espn.com, but it's kinda boring.
