Alcohol intoxication mixes less well with motoring. Drunken driving can lead to things much worse than puking on folk or being puked on.

Yeah, you can buy alcohol on some commuter trains on the east cost. I have not been on the #21 late night bar hopping COTA bus but imagine most people know their limits. Common sense says that stumbling drunks make easy targets for other crimes so getting off of a bus smashed or waiting drunk at an urban stop seems pretty stupid.

I've only ridden a few times, but it has always felt like more of a regular bus than a bar-hopping party bus full of drunks. Perhaps it's different at last call at 2:30am, but not that I've experienced personally.
