Columbus Ohio based graffiti artist Coreroc presents a solo art show that flexes his diverse skill set. The exhibit will delve into Installation Art, Paintings, Sk8 Decks, Custom Art Toys, Graphic Design, Photography, and Clothing. Coreroc and local turntablist Dj Drastic will tag team Hip Hop and progressive turntablism during the opening reception on September 1st 2007. The event will be part of Columbus' monthly Gallery Hop in the Short North Arts district of town. URBAN VERSATILITY will be held at The Mighty Stained Skin Gallery 1255 N. High St. Columbus, Ohio 43214. Opening reception will be from 8-11pm. there will be free refreshments, entertainment, and the artist will be on hand to awnser questions and discuss his influences and history.
Make sure to stop by on your trip through the Hop this month. I make a personal promise that this will be the most artistic showing of a single artist in the short north during the month of September. come out and see what all the hype is about for yopurself.

Here is a teaser piece that will be at the show. it has shown in olumbus prior to this show, but still gets looks everytime it gets displayed. There will be another sk8 deck inspired by this work as well as 4 other sk8 decks in the show.

I figured with all of the shamless self promotion going on in the threads today I wouold add to the pot since I have yet to gain a respone to my show. Don't worry I'm not butthurt by it, but i do want to spred the word and hopefully open a new art door for some. My work is vastly different from that of what you will traditionally find at gallery hop. Also unlike other galleries Stained Skin will have a seemingly endless supply of
FREE BEER
Also for opening night only I am offering a 25% discount on any piece for sale if you can tell me the name of my oldest cat (THE BLACK ONE). Possibly if your nice enough walker will tell you the awnser.

LOL...hey brutha, I never had a problem with the style it was just if it showed up on my garage unannounced ;)
But yeah, the show looks fantastic. The overall presentation and making the whole wall yours was sweet!

Yeah, I really like how the whole wall was used not only as a spot to hang art, but also as a piece itself.
So how long will this work be on display there? All month?

The work will be on display for the entire month of September. The only exception is that the clothing I made was not put on display, but rather worn by people at the opening. The prices on the work is very affordable also. I will even extend a 25% discount if you mention Columbus Underground at the shop. Cyrus Fire is the Manager and will handle all sales from here on.
As a side note the Gallery at Staind Skin will be accepting submission for the 2008 schedule. So for any artists looking for an alternative location to show work. I highly suggest the Stained Skin Gallery as they cover overhead with tattoo's and do not charge commission on sales of artwork.

This show is set to be featured in a future book publication called "Stencil Nation". The book is set to drop in mid 2008 and will feature works of art created through the use of stencil mediums and repeatable process. Who knows if you were at the show you may get published!
