I just looked at the figures and I think this is the most artists that we've had at Urban Scrawl thus far!

Artwork finding new homes in neighborhood
Thursday, August 26, 2010
BY AMY SAUNDERS
The Columbus Dispatch
For art created in public to benefit the public, most of the murals from Urban Scrawl haven't received much attention. As Scrawl organizers struggled to find places to display the artwork, dozens of pieces sat in a warehouse on Rich Street, largely unappreciated, for three years.
This week, seven of the murals were installed in Franklinton, where the fourth annual Urban Scrawl will take place Saturday.

i thought the weekender was a "puff piece" section.... thanks Amy for taking the only semi negative thing i said out of a 30 min interview. thanks for arranging those words for me although i think mine sounded better!.!.!... i guess the westside cant do nothing right huh? i should have known better when her first questions were " so why hasn't much art gone up in franklinton?" and "whats your budget this year and where do you get the money from and how do you spend it?" i should have said stimulus dollars.....
overall decent article just left a little taste of piss in my mouth. oh well back to making easels! tomorrow's the day!

Yea, she prolly had to "find" some sort of controversy (note to journalists... does EVERY article have to have controversy?) I have been quoted in the paper on a couple of occaisions, and it kills me that the reporter will INEVITABLY take the worst quote and highlight it.
Regardless... it's good to see Franklinton getting some recognition.
