On the 4th Friday of each month in April-September, quaint Uptown Westerville is throwing a block party similar to the downtown Columbus' Gallery Hop.
Visitors and convention bureau director Jeff Hartnell said he hopes to see a record-setting 60,000 people turn out for this year's Fourth Friday events, which are held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the fourth Fridays of the month, April through September.
The Fourth Friday events feature live music and entertainment, informational booths, vendors, food stands and more. Uptown businesses stay open late during the events.
The visitors and convention bureau has expanded Fourth Fridays this year to include more of Uptown and more than 20 new vendors and booths, Hartnell said.
Home Street now will be closed during Fourth Fridays to add space there, he said, and the area previously dubbed "Emerald Square," behind Emerald Bank, will be expanded to "Emerald City."
"We're working hard to make that into a Wizard of Oz area," Hartnell said.
The area will include food booths, karaoke and live bands, he said.
Taco truck Mojo Tago will be in the food court.
