Up the Lane Grass Fed Beef Farms (vendors at the Worthington Farmers Market) is announcing their two farm tours in July. They're only offering two and have limited spacing so if anyone is interested, early reservations are recommended. We went last year and it was very fun/informative to hear John's philosophy on cattle farming as well as his unique fencing and rotating paddock system:
We will have two Sunday farm tours, on July 10th and July 17th. The tours are free.
If you are interested in visiting with us then, please let us know. We can only accomodate so many people on each tour. We will take names on a first-come-first-served basis. If there is enough interest we will introduce additional tour dates.
We had our first tours last summer and they were fun, for kids and adults alike.
It works best to start about 3 pm. By 5 or so we can show you how we move the cattle each day. (The Changing of the Paddocks! The dramatic hightlight of our day!) We do everything out here rain-or-shine, using umbrellas or whatever other gear we can make use of.
If you contact us with interest, we will confirm your tour date. We will follow up about ten days beforehand to remind you.http://upthelanefarm.com/
