UNDERGROUND AT THE FOUNDRY
Art Gallery Show!

Saturday, October 8th
6pm to 9pm

Columbus Underground is teaming up with The Columbus Idea Foundry to regularly exhibit the work of local artists in the gallery space at The CIF.

Our first show is a collaborative show featuring the works of Jeremy Callahan and Kate Morgan.

Drinks & snacks will be provided.

The Columbus Idea Foundry is located at 1158 Corrugated Way, in the Milo-Grogan neighborhood.

Artist Bios!

Kate Morgan

Kate Morgan is based in Columbus, Ohio.

Some artists define their work as painting, or sculpture. Kate describes hers as portraiture. Her earliest passion was drawing, which she discovered at the age of 4. She continues this passion in the mediums of printmaking, painting, photography and mixed media. As an artist who appreciates the human form and the emotions within, she explores many mediums to convey the limitless individuality the human form embodies. Kate is a graduate of Columbus College of Art & Design.

Jeremy Tillman Callahan

As a daily occurrence, J. Tillman Callahan peers at his own reflection and Siftus stares back at him with creative eyes and a gnarled grin. Together, they yearn, not only to tread new lands within digital formats, but also to travel back in time to relish in the success' of ancient and solid art forms while working towards a certain purity of expressive communication. He sits on the fence between precious emotions and what others may perceive to be decrepit layers of the human experience.

J. Tillman Callahan, Siftus, a filthy little bag of antlers is an artist and writer from Columbus, Ohio who has no choice but to create to exist and the drive to communicate. His affiliations lay with Taint Studios, Art Party, and The Columbus Idea Foundry, though will soon take leave to see what the west coast has to offer.

Local Artist Spotlight: J. Tillman Callahan

Jeremy Callahan (aka Siftus) is one of several dozens artists that you’ll find at the Columbus Idea Foundry, a multi-purpose creative hub tucked away on a side street in an industrial strip of the Milo-Grogan neighborhood. His work spans many mediums, from visual arts to creative writing to video production and he describes his style as both simultaneously decrepit and hopeful.

Local Artist Spotlight: Kate Morgan

Kate Morgan describes her work as “portraiture”, which is a blend of painting, photography and mixed media. This CCAD graduate maintains a studio space at the Columbus Idea Foundry, a 10,000 square foot creative space for local artists and inventors.

We recently spoke with Kate for a Q&A session to find out more about her work and her involvement in the growing community surrounding the Idea Foundry.
