According to the Dae Oh website, the restaurant was sold, so I imagine we should be hearing soon what will be opening in that spot:
TYFOON Has been sold by the Dae Oh Restaurant Group. Thank you for your support over the last 6 years!! Please look forward to the new ownership and provide them with as much support as you all have given us!

So bittersweet news...

I remember their half prices sushi nights. If you were in a patient mood, they were awesome.

I really hope new owners will change the name. I could never patronize the place because of the annoying name. Seriously, just spell it Typhoon! Perhaps it's the OCD English major in me, but I really hate that cutesy spelling stuff.

I agree with the name, it also bothered me, too cool for school.

Yay, another bro-centric meat market bar.

Did you want options down in that part of town? I'm happy to just write it off entirely and avoid it during the week and avoid it like the plague during the weekend.

If BBR has decent rock bands, I'll give it a whirl. Garage Bar was supposed to be a "rock" bar but now play hip hop on Thursday and Friday and really shitty bands on Saturday.

It's almost guaranteed to be cover bands doing crappy pop/top-40 rock songs a-la Park Street Patio. Bet on it.

Someone from Drink Up Columbus checked out the new BBR last night if you want to read more about it: http://drinkupcolumbus.com/2011/08/06/bbr-beer-burgers-rock-opens-in-arena-district
Seems... not awful.

High Beck, Chelseas, Little Brothers, etc. all used to do that scene really well, and now (judging by where my friends are playing gigs) it has all moved to Grandview and Bethel Road and other burb'esque locales.
