Two surprising things about Cowtown Pizza

One, the insane number of gourmet toppings they offer for delivery.

Two, they mailed me a thank-you card for ordering a pizza from them. I mean, it's a hand-written postcard, with my name on it, thanking me for ordering a single large capacolla pizza from them and saying that they hope it was good.

And it was good! But I don't know if I deserved a card for it. Maybe they're confusing me with somebody else. Maybe the card was sent by one of my many internet enemies who has now confirmed my real name and address. Either way, it was a really pleasant surprise to find that in my mailbox.

Also, does anybody know the etiquette here? Am I expected to respond, like with an RSVP, or is this more of a "thanks for the wedding gift" thing?

i used to get those all the time (pre-clever crow opening, in what we call "the before time") as well as "moobucks" or whatever they call 'em but it's basically a buck coupon they send tucked into every pizza box. those cats know about good customer-service follow-up. i also STILL randomly get custom postcards from them despite the fact that i order maybe once every 2 or 3 months now.

and for the record, their bbq chicken pizza is best in town. that shit's straight crack.

A place that truly cares about and appreciates their customers! I wish more businesses would do this. Especially a hand written card that takes about 30 seconds to write and less than 50 cents to mail.

Props to cowtown.

the best etiquette guide I can find that addresses this suggests just ordering another pizza

Clearly a business model using snail mail is outdated and cliche, and this company will be out of business within 6 hours.

I walked in and got a Margherita pie from Cowtown after trying a few slices at the pizza derby. Really, really good. The postcard sounds really cute! I wish I'd known about that.

Thank them by posting on a pizza-loving local messageboard how much you like them and how good the pizza is. I love them too, their product is good and I like the way they do business. And they deliver, and they offer slices at the store.

Tip Your Driver! They know who tips well, and they will love you right back.

Totally OT, but that avatar is hilarious. One of the best iPod knockoffs I've seen. :-)

And I've heard nothing but good things about Cowtown. Columbus has a heck of a gourmet pizza scene, and Cowtown is one of the reasons.

I got it, too. It was not hand-written. I checked it by holding it up closely to the light and seeing if there was any impression or depth to the writing as there would be from a pen or pencil pressing down.

Having said that...at least they did SOMETHING personal.
