I didn’t watch this show until it was on the TW in demand. Now I'm hooked. (no I didn’t read the books) Anyone else excited for this? Or going to give it a chance?
(I didn't see a dedicated older true blood thread.)

Im almost finished with Season 1. I like it. Out of the gate I almost gave up as it seemed awfully cheesy at first. FWIW, I've read all the Anne Rice books (well most of them).
Yeah, good show.
Was totally with you H, watched first two episodes...quit watching entirely...got caught up at like week 7 or 8 and was TOTALLY hooked by the end.
Love this show, been really looking forward to season 2.
any thoughts on last night? I can't figure out what the rich chick is all about. Glad Lafayette is not dead.
Thought it was excellent, the whole thing at the end with the Sheriff coming down with foils in his hair to eat people=AWESOME :D
the next week preview looks nuts also... I can’t believe I'm excited over this show.. but it's got me hooked.
The young vamp chick that bill turned is pretty annoying though, and a shitty actress.
Sookie is heavenly and delicious.
Well I was going to watch it last night but I got shitfaced instead, so I'm watching it tonight and laying off the booze.
If you read the books, I believe the "rich chick" is a character from the books, who the vamps and Merlotte has to make a sacrafice to, but cannot remember her proper name.....

can we not have spoilers please... I know this is not a straight up spoiler.. but.. If you have read that book, please don't chime in before it happens in the tv show.
thanks
^WHAT HE SAID (ONLY MEANER!)
Ball is not taking her character in the same direction as the books -- so no spoiler in any way, shape or form.....
Yeah, I was told the show isn't following the book completely. One major example I was told was that Lafayette died before this point in the book. I think readers of the book as while as the newbie viewers are in for surprises.
I liked the last episode. Especially liked how Erik tore that guy apart in the end. Nice.
yeah, that was intense. DO NOT piss off a vampire...
hi. can we add *spoiler alert* to the title of this thread? kthxbai.
p.s. b and i are on the fifth dvd from season one. we hope the organic, vegan, "my carbon footprint is miniscule," bitch dies an awful bloody death.
umm season 2 is in the title of the thread... good idea not to read it if you have not finished season one. lolz.
