If you don't know, you should. Creators of The Wire (one of the top 5 shows ever on TV) has this new show starting this weekend on HBO Sunday at 9 (I think). The tragic death of David Mills last week, means this is the last of his work anyone will be able to see. Watch it.

I'm super excited for Treme. Boardwalk Empire, not so much. It kind of looks like a Mad Men knock-off done Sopranos-style. Meh. I don't think anything they've done has topped The Wire. With Breaking Bad too AMC is pretty impressive right now.

Absolutely loving this show. The character development is incredibly rich, particularly the two real stars...the music and the city. I couldn't even begin to pick a favorite character right now, the minute I start to think its John Goodman as Creighton, Steven Zahn as Davis does something amazing. Then you're leaving out Clarke Peters as Chief Lambreaux...or heaven forbid, Wendell Pierce as Antoine Batiste.
Its a pretty ridiculous cast when academy award nominees like Melissa Leo are just the icing on the cake.

loving it. unfortunately we cancelled our cable so now i'll have to wait for the DVDs but i just love it. Could never happen on network and will probably be cancelled because of the slow-moving pace.
but it's amazing. everything about the show is so natural, most of it just feels like voyeurism instead of something scripted.
also, a few of the actors are real people who gave testimony in "When the Levees Broke."

I'm loving the show, and the music is really fantastic. It's been awesome to see some of the actors from The Wire pop up. We've been dorking out with Treme get togethers every Sunday, of course coupled with food from Da Levee.

Didn't watch last nights yet, but really enjoying it also.
I guess it's possible it could be canceled, but I read that HBO has already renewed for a 2nd season. So seems they have confidence in it.
