BUY HANDMADE FOR THE HOLIDAYS
The 2nd Annual Tiny Canary Indie Design Market, a Two-day Event in Columbus Ohio, Features Artists’ Handmade Goods
Grandview Heights, Ohio, USA – November 15-16, 2008 - Inspired by the DIY craft movement, Tiny Canary Indie Design Market, was organized to support and sustain independent designers and artists locally and regionally while celebrating the spirit of the handmade community worldwide.
An alternative for the gift giving season, Tiny Canary, a modern arts and crafts market, will feature independent designers and makers of everything from jewelry and clothing, to original body care products and home décor. November 15 and 16, from 10 am – 6 pm each day, Junctionview Studios (889 Williams Ave. Grandview Heights, Ohio) will serve as a temporary marketplace for early holiday shoppers who prefer a unique alternative to the overcrowded and over-commercialized shopping malls. Parking and entrance to the event are free. The first one hundred in attendance each day will receive a organic cotton tote bag filled with samples and coupons from the vendors.
Not only will shoppers have the opportunity to purchase some truly unique items, but they can also speak to the creator of the items themselves. In a time of economic uncertainty, purchasing directly from individuals is a great way to invest in small businesses, the local economy and to help grow and sustain a creative community.
