With the speed of which it was announced that Tim Horton's was going in to the now vacant DD, it makes me wonder if this was planned much earlier in fact. Hmmmm.

This will bring in droves of Canadian tourists. Well maybe not, but they'll feel more at home when they get here and are looking for their Timmys fix. There will have to be a sign that to alert people that it won't accept pink and purple money, though.

I'm sorry...Tim's sucks. Der Dutchman probably wouldn't have been interested and neither would my other donut favorite, Buckeye Donuts. Tim Horton's are only a step up from a cold Krispy Kreme from Speedway. Now a Krispy Kreme with a nice blazing hot now sign would be a wonderful site in downtown.

Tim Horton's is a fitting replacement. The corner shouldn't miss a beat which is good for the other businesses in the area. The speed with which Casto was able to fill the space is because the location has an extremely high level of foot traffic and DD had been behind on their lease long enough that Casto shopped the location. Business ideas for the corner are still a good thread topic because there is a 2000+ sqft space right between Tim Horton's and Burgers Dogs and Fries. Chipotle gets my vote.

So this is the Canadians' first strike.

What if Tim Hortons moved out of their current location and built two six story buildings in the arena district?

Good to see a Columbus company open back up downtown. The coffee is better than burned Starbucks. Wendys, White Castle, A&F, etc are you listening? Downtown looks like the home of Subway right now.

Nooooooooooooooo!
D. VaderTimmy ho's is Canadian. So it's 'Nooooooooooooooo, eh?'
Also, while it's not something precious is there a real problem with tim hortons?Dunkin' Donuts USED TO BE British; although it was founded in MA, was for many years held by Allied Domecq, a UK company with a French-sounding name.
Isn't that the second eviction on that corner?
At least the Dunkin' at Broad & High was open for a while; the one on Bethel pooped out halfway through construction and ended up a Popeye's (this according to the gal who runs the oil change place next door).

I don't like their coffee, but daydream about their Old Fashioned Glazed donuts and holes.
