Tiger has announced that he's coming back to golf at this year's Masters in early April. I wonder whether he'll also play at the Memorial in June and the Bridgestone in Akron later this summer?

This will be the feel-good story in sports of the decade!

Yes, and tomorrow's South Park is also going to be great.

I wonder if there's anyone that could care less than myself and most of the people on this board...

I like golf too, it's the gossipy "comeback of a lifetime" crap I don't care about. Come back, play well, and get everyone to STFU. If you don't play well, please just disappear in to the oblivion like you said were going to do in December.

I wonder if there's anyone that could care less than myself and most of the people on this board...I had an over/under with myself at 3 1/2 posts before someone jumped on this thread and posted the obligatory, "I could care less" message. Yet you still opened the link, read it and have posted multiple times. I'm not hating on you, I do the same thing but I just knew that would happen with this topic. And by the way, I lost the bet....TO MYSELF (name the movie reference...anyone?)

For the record, I was being sarcastic about the whole "comeback of a lifetime" thing. Sure, I like golf (I'm an avid golfer and golf fan), but it's just a sporting event.

I was poking at his OP ("I wonder"....) and reacting to his second post which he now has said was a joke. You should consider lightening up.

Lighten up, haha. I typed my message with a smile. I mean, I made a bet with myself, lost and made a Super Troopers reference...yes, I'm very uptight indeed, need...to....lighten...up.
It was quite obvious that the OP was being sarcastic by his second post, which looks like it was posted before yours but maybe it wasn't, maybe you posted at the same time so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
There have been people saying that this is going to be the biggest TV event of the last 15-20 years (President of ABC maybe?), which is laughable.

I am so looking forward to the new season of South Park!

The predicted TV ratings for this years Masters Tournament with Tiger returning are pretty staggering. Super Bowl, presidential election type ratings expected. I don't doubt it.

I don't doubt it.I get the predictions and maybe they're right, but it also feels like a little bit of T.V. hype. With golf, he'll tee off at 9-10 in the morning on a Thursday. By that time the interwebs will be buzzing with his performance and it will have subsided by Saturday when people can actually tune in. Golf is so boring to people who don't like it and the novelty will wear off after a few holes regardless. Tiger's getting ready to hit....focus in on Tiger from behind....swing.....follow the shot to the green...."great shot by Tiger....and now to K.J. Choi's second shot on 15..." That's just my opinion anyway, I could be completely wrong.

I think it might depend on how nice the weather is that weekend. Such a crappy winter, if it's sunny and warm I'm not sure how many people are going to sit in front of the TV on Sat and Sun afternoon. Unlike other events you're talking about, this is daytime TV, not primetime. If it's a crappy weekend I bet it will be high initially and then taper off as non-fanatical golf fans realize just how boring watching golf on TV is :)
