Jeremy Bullock broke his collar bone from that slam and it ended his career.
This happened almost 10 years ago, and is the reason why they have such strict weight class restrictions now.

any of you guys remember the old days of UFC before it was sanctioned/cleaned up, bought by Dana White? Yowza. I think the only rules were no eye gouging and no nut kicking. No rounds, go 'til someone is done. and you'd fight 4 times in one night. You think it's brutal now....

To some of us, it just looks like a couple of half naked oiled up men grappling, spooning and humping each other. I'd have to say that's pretty darn close to the real thing.

Most MMA fighters are college All-American wrestlers, boxers and athletes. It's far more than "humping" and "spooning".
Fighters in the UFC and Strikeforce have to be proficient in boxing, wrestling, and jiu-jitsu just to have a prayer of lasting more than a minute in the ring. It takes years of training. It's not a tough-guy competition anymore where one-dimensional fighters can excel. It's probably the greatest physical chess match imaginable. Just because you don't understand the techniques they are using doesn't make it stupid or childish. It's anything but.
