I just had a chance to watch the first 3 episodes. It seemed very predictable, not something I found in Breaking Bad...

Caught all current last night on this show.
While mediocre overall, still better than most tv.

They just fired all their writers.Thank God. Great production value, but pretty hard to get past the stilted dialogue.

I think AMC was too quick to pick it up for a second season. I would rather they invested in something else at this point. The writing was pretty bad and now it looks like there will be no cohesiveness.

UPDATE WEDNESDAY 10:45AM: AMC just issued a statement confirming "that there will be changes to the writing staff" of The Walking Dead.
Slightly better than 'meh' on the show. I watched the opener. Missed the next several weeks and read spoilers instead of watching them rec'ed. Saw last Sunday's ep and didn't feel I had missed much. No sense of urgency or push to what is going on. Might give it one more episode.

You may have missed a cool episode where they encountered some "gangsters" that were protecting an old folks home. Definitely my fav episode of this short season. I was looking forward to more encounters like that as they moved around, but it sounds like there's no where to go.
But I still want to know....WHERE'S MORGAN?!?

The last episode of season one is on Sunday. Then we wait until late October for season two. I suspect Darabont will have a writing staff, or a bunch of freelancers by then.
I've just started reading book one of the graphic novels. Still early, not much to report.

The books start out ok and become fantastic.

Honestly, one of the worst season finales I've ever seen. Hopefully, with new writers they can help make the characters a little bit like-able and move the story along better.
I mean seriously, the old dude was sitting there convincing the white lady that she needed to live right in front of the black lady who they left for dead without a second thought. WTF?

^lol. that didn't stick out to me, but is odd.
i kind of liked the change of scenery if you will in this finale episode.
hopefully the next season will suck less with better writing.

Never seemed like a guy who "didn't" care about anyone. I can believe he cared 'more' for the other girl, but they set him up as a nice, fatherly figure to all. That's what I mean about the writing.

I can see that... also see him caring more for one than the other.

Call me a picky nerd, but that explosive was supposed to be second to only a nuclear warhead, and people were able to huddle roughly 100 yards from the building and not be hurt? The windows in the cars were intact, seriously? The shock wave would have shattered them and those people would have been at least badly hurt.
I'll still watch it though, cr0m says if they stay with the story line it will get really interesting next season.Posted 1 year ago #
