Heh. After seeing the season premiere of season 2, I feel a little more comfortable coming out of the closet with respect to the fact that I watch this show. It used to be just a guilty pleasure (like Heroes was a few years ago). It's no True Blood, but it's no longer just Dawson's Creek with undead capitalizing on the Twilight phenomenon. The lead actress has gotten better and will be getting a lot of screen time this season because she plays both the lead female and the primary villain for the season (and she shifts between the two roles pretty well), and the former-lead actor has had his screen time reduced slightly (which I'm quite OK with, because he wasn't necessarily any more help to the show in high doses than in medium doses). Some of the supporting actors are actually pretty good.
I give props to the CW (nee WB) for giving shows a little bit longer than some other networks (*cough* Fox *cough*) to find their stride.
