Looking for feedback for additional CU food events. Here are some possibilities.
1) The Double Beanie Burger Challenge at Gahanna Grill - eat your burger and fries in 30 minutes to get a shirt and your photo on the wall. Does the premise sound familiar? This is much easier to eat than the hallowed Dagwood Sandwich at Ohio Deli. Date June 14 - featuring Coremodels and Cyclist - will Cyclist win again? Will Coremodels finish his fries - be there to find out!.
2) Cupcake Caper - bring a dozen cupcakes for the first ever CU cupcake swap (idea credited to Anne)((Or a cupcake style/sized item - see the rest of this thread))
3) CU Grilled cheese cook off
Grilled Cheese Invitational
4) Fall CU Pizza Grand Prix (2.0)
5) CU food road trips pick from: Pittsburgh - Fat Heads, Cincinnati - Jungle Jims, Cleveland - West Side Market and Lolita, Dayton - Esther Price Chocolates, Dorothy Lane Market and El Meson, Circleville - The "Josh Dares You" Quadruple Hamburger at The Hamburger Inn, Circleville II- Pumpkin Show, Pumpkin Burgers and a farmers market, Athens - O'Betty's Hot Dogs, Casa Neuva Hippy Mexican food and a trip to Cantwell Cliffs, Yellow Springs - Youngs Dairy, The Winds and Cantwell Cliffs, Amish County - the not so famous CMH Gourmand Cheese Tasting, 4 places - about 100 cheeses
6) Fall Festival of Soup - everyone brings a soup or a bowl
7) CU Seafood Event (June) hosted by the Fightinglibrarian - PM her for details. Tentative date June 7
8) All Beer Wench Events
9) Movie Night: Italian Cuisine with the Movie Big Night
Say Anything / High Fidelity Double header - food TBD
10) Sushifest
(Events in honor of America's Kickball Team - The CU Fine Young Professionals)

Wow, all sound like good options... I will need to take a step up from my neopolitan cupcakes, I'll start thinking of ideas now... french vanilla cupcakes with a chocolate covered cherry inside maybe? My love for cupcakes knows no bounds. My love for grilled cheese need not be spoken - look left.
I'm in for all of it... I have to get back to mowing my parents lawn now before I can leave to go camping. 8)

All of the above sound very enticing. Especially #3 and #5.
In addition, since the weather's getting warm, I'd be willing to tap into my hot sauce collection to help out with a spice-themed event that someone else organizes. There are a fair number of Fiery Food Challenge winners in there from over the years.

I'd love a food road trip! Circleville is CUTE! (maybe we could all go to the pumpkin show this fall and go on a scavenger hunt for weird pumpkin-containing food!)
Camping in hocking hills + local foodery + buy a bag of apples on the way home = awesome.
I hear enthusiasm for cupcakes all the time, but they're kind of all the same, aren't they? A cupcake is a cupcake. What would i gain from swapping? (not judging, just asking)

I think there is a Bakery Gingham post in here somewhere - take a gander at that to build up some cupcake excitment. Little cupcake bakeries seem to be all the rage now - maybe we could just visit all of them on one day to see what all the hubbub is about.
What would you gain..... about 1 pound if everyone brings enough cupcakes.
Hocking Hills was a good idea- that is added to the list.

I will definitely sample a cupcake from there soon. Those look like enough sugar to kill a man! I may have to call in backup!

I can bring cupcakes. I cannot, however, bring myself to put seafood into a cupcake - so these will just be deliciously unhealthy concoctions of sugar flour egg oil fruit chocolate... and an extra slice of love.
