You are correct. We didn't get the news-post avatars tied together yet. Couple little minor details still left to clean up. ;) Yesterday was a long series of fixing one thing while breaking another, so we had to call it quits when we got it close enough. :D

Ok. just wanted to check if it was meant to be visible.
if you click on someone's name on a comment is it meant to take you to their profile? at the moment it takes you to whatever website address they have on their profile.
would it be possible to have a link to the 'new posts' on the first page after you sign in? Am i missing something - it seems like you have to go into a thread and then you can go to 'new posts' list.

Yeah, the user details with the comments on the front page news are not 100% yet (need to update the avatar and profile links as well as some other formatting).
You want to see new posts on the front page? Can't you just go to the front page? Or are you asking for something else?

on the front page you see the latest 5 comments, but you can't tell what thread they were on.
Is there a link to http://www.columbusunderground.com/forums/view/new-posts on the front page anywhere?

I don't get the page not loaded problem, I get one involving a blue screen in my browser (the bg color loads, most likely), but then my tab sits in constant refresh mode. VERY quickly.
I'll throw you a screen shot in a minute.
