I would like to hear what other people have to say about it.

In my opinion, it was yet another Stephen King book that did not translate well to film. I thought the special F\X were weak, characters were generic, the dialogue was ridiculous and it was not remotely scary. But that’s just my opinion. My girlfriend liked it and I’m glad you liked it. BTW, the ending was a little sadistic, but kudos for not wussing out. I don’t think that gives anything away.

OH MY GAH. I KNOW!!!! I was like omg. but it wouldn't have been the same if it was different. :) I mean, it wouldn't have had the same feel if the ending was different.
I just ahhhh, I don't want to spoil it!!!!! I have to stop writing.
ps, that all-about-god woman was pissing me off by the end.
and did I say by the end? I meant by the second sentence that left her crazy mouth.
I'm still waiting for "The Vapor" to come out.
Or, "The Low-Hanging Cloud."
I gotta tell ya. I finally saw this movie, and it was scary as hell. I don't mean 30 days of Night scary...which I thought was scary...I mean SCARY AS HELL. Don't get me wrong, it was kind of dumb too...but as a monster movie, it's kind of destined for that. The nerdy store clerk...aka badass...was genius. Bonus added for having 3 military guys in the movie who weren't either Rambo...or wannabe Rambos who died ridiculously, they were just as fucked as everyone else in the store. I thought the whole religious fanatic drawing followers was actually a cool aspect of this movie vs. normal "survival horror".
It wouldn't make my top ten list on any list, but I enjoyed he hell out of it...and it did scare me!
I know right? I want to know where the giant spider-like thingy disappeared to in the end. like, it was there one SECOND and then gone the next. am I supposed to believe that it was chased away by the government dudes on their little tank? yeah rizzle.
I rented this movie and all I have to say is that it is a MUST SEE if you like...well, F'd up movies. I loved the whole science vs religion themes going on although I would have belted the bible lady well before they finally did. Also the whole "mob" mentality that ensues when people are hopeless. I think it was more of a movie about human nature that was disguised as a horror flick. I can totally see how this movie did not do well at the box office. No big stars and 95% of it takes place in a grocery store, but its not surprise that people would rather see big named stars and explosions. You put Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins in this and it would have been voted one of the best of 2007.
ah shite i gotta see this asap.
