Has anyone been there yet and tried it? I saw a short piece in the Other paper I believe. I happened to drive by it and am thinking on going soon but wondered if anyone had tried it? I couldnt find any additional info through Google.

Of course, if were a Christian bookstore the shepherd would never be lost.
I did, however, google it only to find a heartbreaking list of lost dogs.
notcool.

I have tried it once.
Once inside I found it to be a much larger place than it appeared from Powell Road.
Prices are reasonable and so are the portions.

I went a few weeks ago also. Decent food, service was iffy (slow). Looks like they are working out being new.

I gotta be honest, the name freaks me out.
I would be afraid I'd sit down for a meal, and have like 19 people spring out of nowhere to explain to me the power of Jesus Christ...to overcome big sandwiches (big props to Daniel for that)

Haven't been there yet. I'd been wondering what that place was going to be until they set up a patio so that it finally looked like a restaurant from outside.
Food sounds like kind of a mix.:

It will be a chef-driven menu, Newton said, where dishes will be cooked to order and portions will be in line with the prices. His background, working at places such as Rigsby’s, Flatiron and the Pig Iron, have helped influence the menu, which draws from the Far East, Europe and the American South.
...
The menu offers pan-fried pork dumplings with a spicy peanut dipping sauce, a nicoise salad with grilled salmon, skillet-roasted filet mignon and beef short ribs. Nothing tops $15. The wine list also will be reasonably priced, with glasses ranging from $4 to $7 and modest markups on the bottles, Newton said.
(There's also a blurb about Hawa Russia on the bottom of that page, FWIW)

I've eaten there a number of times and have really enjoyed it each time. I highly recommend checking it out.
I will say that the service is definitely slow. The servers are always thorough and nice, but move at a very leisurely pace.
Nice menu though with very reasonable prices. It's large and comfortable inside.

The Lost Shepard in Powell, Ohio....
DO NOT EAT!
Steer clear of this place, especially for business. When I was out with a client, I found something foreign grilled into the bacon on my sandwich! Ok, fine move on and thank God it was not on the client’s sandwich, right!? The waiter apologized took the entire plate back and 20mins later they brought another sandwich only without the fries.
It was so awkward, but by then my client had pushed his plate away and was finished eating only half of HIS meal and we had moved onto business. When we received the bill, the pricey sandwich and fries were charged on the bill, even though I didn't even take a bite of either the first sandwich or the replacement. My client even commented as to how salty his choice turned out to be and that I really did not miss out on anything.
To finish off the meal…the manager refused to accept a gift certificate for his establishment AND would not even come out from the offices to explain the reason. He sent a soft-spoken, tiny, teenage hostess. I felt obligated to drop the issue because it was in front of my client.
I did call and left two phone messages with no reply for ten days now.
The client did give me SOME of his business, but I surely did not impress him with the restaurant choice.
~
~Service: young, inexperienced, slow, definitely cheap-help
Food: salty, small portions, seriously questionable
Management: LOUSY! Priority is to make a quick buck, not to get repeat business!

I do find the latest review a bit concerning considering the fact this restaurant has received many outstanding reviews and has always taken the customers concerns into account. I find it difficult to beleive someone made attempts to contact the restaurant without so much as a return call. First of all, the restaurant does not accept gift certificates of any kind nor has it ever excepted anything other than the standard GIFT CARD. The restaurant does not have an office -the owner or one manager is always one the floor to assist customers.
In the restaurant business, the customer always comes first, however MOST people understand that sometimes things happen and the customer will leave unimpressed. The restaurant only learns how to improve by accepting the customers complaints and working to make sure those complaints do not happen again. If someone had the type of service you had experience, I think most people would have gone out of their way to find the manager or owner - who are always on the floor.Posted 2 years ago # -
Looks like the poster with the complaint has either been removed from CU or has removed themselves.
Hard to give their complaint much credit.

I want to try the sweet and hot fries. The beer list looks nice too.

I've been here 4 times now and I have to say it has some of the worst service in the city. I have no knocks on the food (it's fine) but every one of the 4 different servers I've had were VERY slow, two were rude, and most just seemed to not care in the slightest about us, the customer. I've been during a busy dinner hour, and during lunch. One time there was only one other table in the place and it still took forever.
I've given it a fair chance because it is so close to my fiancée’s mother’s house and we are up there a lot. I will not be going back, and it’s a shame because it’s not the food that sucks.

I have to agree that the service is awful. We had a late lunch (2 PM) there last week. We were one of two tables for our waitress. Empty water glasses throughout much of the meal. The wrong salad dressing with the correct dressing only being brought out after my husband gave up and was half way through the salad. Forever to get the check.
The thing that I found particularly odd on this visit, whenever the waitress did make an appearance she stood back a good 4+ feet from our table. The distance was awkward.
The food is always fine, but we end up feeling neglected and always engage in a serious debate about how much to tip.
