Pastor Plans To Renovate Old Cleve Movie Theater

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Cleve Movie Theater opened in 1938, and now a north Columbus pastor has an ambitious plan for the long-neglected building.
Larry Cochran said it will take about $1.5 million to transform the building into the new Linden Cleve Theater and Cultural Arts Extension Center.

New nonprofit begins raising money to transform long-closed movie house into South Linden asset

If a fledgling arts group gets its way, South Linden’s Cleve Theater might star in its own sequel.
The movie house, built by Columbus entrepreneur Leo Yassenoff, opened in 1938 with an inaugural gala featuring S tart Cheering, a just-released musical comedy starring, among others, the Three Stooges.
