Ohio governor strikes $30M in nursing home bonuses

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Ohio Gov. John Kasich (KAY'-sik) has signed a sweeping midterm budget bill after removing $30 million that lawmakers had set aside for bonuses to high-quality nursing homes and striking a number of other provisions.

Governor signs bill to stop Internet cafés

COLUMBUS -- On Monday, Gov. John Kasich signed into law House Bill 386 that, in part, caféeffectively bans Internet cafés. The moratorium on new openings of electronic sweepstakes businesses, known as Internet cafés and centers, will continue through June 30, 2013. The law also requires any existing cafés to register with the Ohio Attorney General's Office by providing an affidavit containing theircafébusiness information, locations and additional information by July 11.

The Ohio Democratic Party has sued Governor John Kasich for what Democrats call his refusal to release his public schedules. Ohio Democratic Party spokesman Jerid Kurtz says the suit filed in Franklin County Court is part of an effort to see if Governor Kasich has used taxpayer money to campaign for GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Kasich Tonight Launches 2016 Bid, Just In Case.

The Just-In-Case Kasich 2016 Campaign begins tonight. Governor John Kasich gives a somewhat anticipated speech tonight to the Republican National Convention in Tampa. He will proclaim robust support for Mitt Romney. He will say the former Massachusetts governor and former successful businessman is just what America needs to turn itself around.
But you have to wonder if a just little part of John Kasich hopes Mitt Romney loses to President Obama in November. So tonight’s speech will also tout John Kasich’s record as governor of Ohio. Just in case Romney loses.

John Kasich’s speech on the floor of the Republican National Convention Tuesday night was a celebratory one. The Ohio governor’s critics say it also skated over some painful truths. Hours before Ohio Gov. John Kasich delivered a 10-minute speech to the Republican National Convention, he was musing about whether he’d flop or fly.
“The two at which I’ve spoken didn’t go all that great. And we’ll see. Either we’ll have three in a row of not good talks or maybe the third time is a charm.”

The audit report said cells were dirty, inmates lacked clean laundry and blankets, pots and pans weren't clean, doors were standing open, and keys were missing.
BTW, little bit for everyone there. If you think prisons should be humane, the laundry, blankets, pots and pans are a big deal. If you think you should lock them up and throw away the key...open doors and lost keys may be an issue.

So I found this picture on the Dispatch's front page. Kasich was meeting with the 12-0 Buckeyes. Now look closely to Kasich picture. Either the picture of him got messed up, or he is starting to bald on the top part/side of his head. (2 inches above his ear.)
