We took advantage of the awesome weather over the weekend and headed down to the Hocking Hills area to ride the Hocking Adena Bikeway.
The Hocking Adena Bikeway is a 19 mile trail that connects Nelsonville to Athens, twisting and turning along the Hocking River.
We started our ride in Nelsonville @ Hocking College and headed south to OU campus @ Athens.
One of the fist things that you notice leaving Nelsonville are the incredible rock out croppings.

There are several nice bridges along the way.

You also pass some storm damage from a tornado that swept thru the area in September.

Lot of the trees were either bent over or broke.

And lots of damanges trailers, some worse than others.

At appx. The 7 mile mark you’ll find the Eclipse Company Store.

They have plenty of bike parking off the trail.

They also had a hog roast going on and a live Bluegrass band as part of their Fall Harvest Festival.

We ate at Jana’s Soul Food Café,

The hog roast wasn't done when we were there so no smoked pig for us.
Further south, you'll find lots of interesting crossings and look outs.

What foilage was still left was pretty.

Abandoned parts of the railroad make for an interesting back drop.

Near the Hocking College entrance there are some old buildings that were once part of an "Artist’s Camp" back in the day.

All in all a great bike trip only about an hour or so south of C-Bus, check it out!
