Mosey needs to go somewhere more ironic, like Clintonville.
"Shuffle" seems more apt for Clintonville, but I am not sure why.

Maybe we should start shitting on the gallery hop too as it seems there's no monopoly in using "hop" for your art-type event.
around here the SN gallery hop is pretty much "grandfathered" out of that kind of consideration.
It makes you wonder about the history of these things... the short north has had theirs for 20 years now. I doubt they were the first, but who was? Where DID that name come from?
Exactly, I doubt we were first, the issue is people are using the word because the Short North made it mean something in this area. There seem to be a lot of restaurants called "Tip Top," "Union," and "Bodega." I think a lot of people would say something if I tried to open an unaffiliated Tip Top in Clintonville.
I don't knbow about that. "Hop" seems to have come to mean a certain type of event and really shouldn't be cause to shit on someone for using the term. It's a pretty good term to describe an event that tells you what's going to be happening.
GO WEST! there's an event name for you. none of this hopping or skipping or sashaying about. just go:)

I'd thought about Grandview Gallop, but that implies far too much of a rush.
This is off topic and I apologize, but I just had to add this since Rockmaster mentioned "mosey"--
My high school chemistry teacher had an impossibly corny sense of humor, and one of his favorite things was to say "Let's Moseley on over to the lab", after Henry Moseley, a British chemist whose work contributed to the positioning of elements on the periodic table.
I also like "Grandview Stroll", it seems more genteel, relaxed, and tree-lined than "Hop", which seems a bit more frenetic and jazzy, more like downtown proper.

that's a "groaner" of the first water. *groan*
I'm partial to the Grandview Ambulation.
With the music aspect you have over other events, how about playing to that?
Grandview's Sounds of Saturdays?
At this point I would like to commend the entire CU community for not once suggesting the word "strut".
thank you

I wonder about that too. Phoenix has been doing their First Friday event informally since the 80s. Anyone know of an older one?
If Grandview did a once a month "Wine Walk" sponsored by Spagio Cellars where you could walk the streets with a glass of vino and pick up a new glass at the various businesses, yep - I'd be there once a month.

I seem to remember the first SN hop here was 1987.
if anyone can find dates for these things post 'em here... I'm curious.

Open container laws and liquor licensing agencies are rolling over in their graves over this one.
But that would be amazing if it was possible!
I think all it takes is a permit and some marked boundaries. And if I am reading correctly they are already closing a street off for the bands...
