I don't have any real knowledge of what will happen but the gossip that I heard is that the group that runs Boston Gourmet Pizza will run the Frog Bear.

I played phone tag with a contact at NRI on the details. She said Frog Bear closed on Sunday and something else is already lined up, but didn't get back with her today to find out what exactly it is. Should know the rest of the details tomorrow and will report back. ;)

Never could stand that place. Meat market extrodinaire.
Wonderful location for pre-hockey gaming, but as a middle-aged woman I could set myself on fire and still not get anyone to take my drink order.

They'll be hosting the M3S Sports Dead Celebrity run. I just got this email:
"Greetings! We are less than three weeks away from THE Halloween Party Race in Columbus. The Dead Celebrity 3 Miler is the night time costume race you have heard about. Join us on Friday night, October 29th at 8pm at the NEW 343 Front Street Tavern & Sports Bar.
Every runner gets a finisher's medal, technical race shirt, one free beer from Michelob Ultra, free food by 343 Front Street Tavern and Sports Bar and a post race Halloween party with live music presented by Michelob Ultra and 343 Front Street. 343 Front Street Tavern & Sports Bar is located in the space formerly occupied by Frog, Bear & Wild Boar Bar".

gotta love the interchangeability of 'McBars'....
they spun the wheel and this time 'dueling pianos' did not come up ;)http://www.arenadistrict.com/where-to-eat/343-front/
343 Front Street Tavern & Sports Bar is a great place to meet, eat and play! 343 Front appeals to sports enthusiasts and offers live entertainment, party rooms, full lunch and happy hour menu.

Same owners different concept??

1. Hated this place.
2. Always sad to see a business close around the area anyways.

New owners, new concept - but new concept won't happen until after the first of the year. Will stay open under current design until then...

That is too funny!! Since he left the place went downhill, They switched the music selection from DJ's playing top 40 to mostly cover bands, and people were not to receptive to the change. But that's the second bar Holla was headlining that shut down, Skybar being the other, the curse of DJ Holla!! Just kidding. I hope the new bar pays more attention to the music selection, it might help them stay in business.Posted 1 year ago # -
Frog Bear Replacement Opens Just In Time For Hockey Season

Blog: Columbus Biz Insider
Dan EatonWork kept me from seeing the puck drop on the Columbus Blue Jackets’ season this afternoon, but if I had gotten out, I’d have a new bar to watch the game – assuming the place had its satellite service up and running.

Dan's first problem, after working, is that he isn't going to R-Bar to watch the game in the first place.
I hope 343 Front does well, but R-Bar really is THE place to watch CBJ games, regardless of the official sponsors.

At 5'o clock this place is mostly Nationwiders (late 20s-40s crowd) with very attentive table service even when it got full. For once they had enough servers on staff! My server was inexperienced (had to ask me what's in a martini) but quite nice and making a effort. I think the menu is the same. Happy hour is $3 mixed drinks and drafts (incl. imports, but make sure you specify draft...wasn't asked, and Strongbow bottle was $6). $4 appetizers are plenty big enough to share. Can't remember if there were as many TVs when it was Frog Bear, but they had several big screens, playing a few different sports channels.
A nice change from the date-rapey Frog Bear. Maybe because it was only 5 o'clock - I don't know what the late night crowd is like. They still seem to be getting organized (server didn't know much about the menu) but the prices are persuasive...I'll be stopping in again sometime.Posted 1 year ago #
