Praise Cthulhu it's not 3D.
My thoughts: I don't care what it is called, I'm stoked!
Anyone else been following Batman & Robin, The Return of Bruce Wayne, Bruce Wayne the Road Home??? I can't put the books down, and reading the Batman Annotations over at ComicsAlliance has been incredibly helpful.
The Grant Morrison documentary should be out soon, too!
I honestly do not HATE the title and I'm sure that the title won't push people away form seeing it either. Christopher Nolan could have named the film, 'Dark Knight 2' and it still would be a hit.
In other news, rumor is that their pitching for it to be viewed in IMAX and not 3D, which should be refreshing.
Who should the villain(s) be? I guess we can rule out the Riddler (who would've been my 1st choice) and Mr. Freeze, in addition to Ra's al Ghul, Scarecrow, Joker, and Two-Face.
Batman needs a new love interest, which raises the possibility of Catwoman or maybe even Talia al Ghul.
Personally, I would love to see The Penguin or Poison Ivy.
Two Face as a VILLAIN would be nice. He was created, now do something with him. Also like the idea of Bane being added to the mix.
A new love interest? Maybe Selina Kyle (Catwoman) or the Huntress.
I'm disappointed that The Riddler is out, but I'm hopeful that it means that The Penguin is in. There aren't many other non-super powered Batman villains, and this seems to be a world without super powers. Catwoman could be good, but I could also see that going very badly. It would be interesting to see if they could pull off a Harley Quinn without the Joker, or Poison Ivy without plant control (various plant-based poisons would work fine).
Although, given the title, I think it's very possible that Batman will be the villain.
Anybody know where you can find used Frank Miller Batman books? (Besides Amazon...)
Why is the Riddler ruled out?

Half Price Books tends to have a good comics section (all branches, but Lane Ave. has the most). The two used bookstores on High St., just north of North Broadway (I forget their names, but they're across the street from each other) both have comics sections.
Actually, my copy of The Dark Night Returns is from the one on the East side of High.

I loved him in the original. But Tom Hardy (Inception) joined the cast, but no one is sure where we'll see hiim.

Not my script, but these guys pulled together a few pages to develop the Penguin as the villian in the 3rd installment.

I saw an interview where Nolan said that after the last film, Two-Face is definitely dead.
I also saw a rumor that filming may be taking place in Louisiana, which made some folks speculate that Killer Croc could be in play, but he's not really a villain with alot of depth. Guess we'll have to wait and see...
