well?

Looks like fun.
;)
I'm excited - I love Wes Anderson's films. Always very understated. I love how the locations are as much a character as anyone else: the house in "Royal Tenenbaums," the boat in "The Life Aquatic."
been anxious for this for a while...the wait is almost over!!!
I wonder if the characters will be quirky?
Seriously though, I like his movies. Royal Tennenbaums especially.
I love his movies. I mistook Jason S. for Luke Wilson for the first part of the preview! oops! I think it looks great.
My favorite kind of movie!
Saw it tonight and loved it. Wes Anderson bringing his A game.
I hate being sick
decided to rest tonight so I can be somewhat well tomorrow - between napping and sweating I have gotten a little bit done around the apartment, but still wish like hell i could have went tonight and watched this... dammit.
Heh... yeah, you missed out. I really don't want to say much more about it. I don't want to ruin it for anyone. :D

Where did it come out tonight. I was planning on going, but looked in the paper and didn't see anything??? Oh well, there's always tomorrow.
Twas a special sneak peek showing. 8)
I shall use my first post to say a quick hello to all, and to say that I'm irrationally excited to see this movie- as much for the filming locations as for the director.
BTW, anyone seen 'Hotel Chevalier'? It's a 10 minute(ish) short film/semi-prequel to this movie. It can be downloaded for free on iTunes... highly recommended, especially for Natalie Portman fans.

We talked about Hotel Chevalier a little bit over here.

Welcome to the site. Be sure to post something up when you get a chance to see the movie. I'd interested to hear what other people think of it. :D

Thanks, and, yeah, leave it to the new guy to think that hadn't been covered. :)

Thanks, and will do for sure.
loved the movie!!!
That was pretty darned good. I love how so much of the story is told through what is left unspoken... Anderson has a real talent for coaxing the actors into making their facial expressions speak volumes.
Beyond that, the visuals are just spectacular. DE definitely pushed all of my wanderlust buttons.
I used to be the world's biggest Wes fan but suddenly I'm not as excited to see this one. His style is very distinctive and he's very talented. He also uses amazing color combinations, and always brings a quality soundtrack for sure.
I will say that now that he's everyone's favorite, saying he's not my favorite makes people act like I kicked a box of puppies.
I guess I'm just not as excited about seeing Catcher in the Rye set to Kinks songs over and over again as I used to could be  I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade, because you could be getting something totally different from these films.
I also think he and Sophia Coppola share a lot of the same strengths and same limitations. Again, amazing color sense, great ear for music, so many other things.... just leaves me with the same empty feeling.
I will admit to a permanent weakness for Rushmore. And I wish I was Margot from Tenenbaums. Yes I'm that cheesy.
saw this mid-day today... excellent work, yeoman still has the touch... loved the film, the humor i found really didn't match up with the rest of the audience - but i'm not keeping score. noticed that every time schwartzman used the phone the letters STD were in the frame, and when someone else would use the phone an extra would stand in front of the letters... love the little eccentricities he adds... also love the side-scroll kubrick-esque shot during the funeral.
some of the scenes with arguments are reminiscent of bottle rocket... loved anjelica huston's role as well, would be nice for anderson to have one of these mysterious and strong female characters be a lead in one of his films though- not just an object or supporting char.
Visually, the film is stunning. Anderson found some great locations to shoot and the cinematography is right up there with Renoir's The River.
I wish he'd stop being so cute with the stunt casting, the clever soundtracks and the slo-mo and start focusing on the script, which was the weakest part of the film.
The performances were all top notch, especially Adrien Broady's
