heh, yeah. I'm sure My great Grammma (who taught me how to win at Blackjack, btw) would have had some interesting things to say about it.

On the one hand she didn't entirely trust modern technology, on the other hand anyone who remembers putting food on the table in the 30s has a more personal perspective on food commodity prices and industrial farming...

gah I really wish she was still around.

YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF
A WEDDING LIKE THIS!
The tale of the willing bride.....

We decided to drive to Kentucky in the dead of winter to find us a bride. The groom, GlenLenny, was back in Columbus and we were hell-bent on finding him a partner.

There she was, just hours after being spent at the Woodford Reserve distillery. Still groggy with bourbon from the last seven years, we put her in the trunk and drove her to her new home in Columbus.

We gently dragged her down to our underground lair, er, brewery and filled her with intoxicating GlenLenny's Scotch Ale, already fermenting for about two months.

The arranged wedding complete, we gave them comfortable quarters for alomost two more months. Until now.

You are invited to the wedding reception of GlenLenny's Scotch Ale and the former Woodford Reserve Cask. For the first time ever. Only at Barley's Brewing Company.

Whiskey Pete, the father of the bride, slid me tickets to Gogol Bordello (he represents Woodford Reserve AND Jack Daniels). Pretty long line @ Skully's, but it should be kinda fun. I see some bourbon in my immediate future...

I would definitely be open to hosting again.

I've got a ton going on at home right now and want to finish my grill build project at home first.

I'd be up for the hosting duties too. I had a chance to try Copper Fox Rye Whiskey over the weekend and it's damn near my favorite. 2/3 rye and 1/3 barley. If you see it, don't pass it up.

Rick Lopez is talking about doing a bourbon themed dinner at Knead next month. Heard a few of the menu ideas and it sounds really good. I'll post when I hear more details.

Anybody still drinking bourbon? This was a great thread, I got a lot of ideas about stuff to try! I mostly drink Jameson 12 yr whiskey or Jimmy Beam. Time to expand the boundaries!
