First and foremost, I'm not a huge fan of "mash ups". Girl Talk doesn't really do it for me, mainly due to the abundance of top-40 acapellas that he uses.
But then there are rare occasions where someone just does something amazing, with craft, precision, and creativity.
This "mixtape" landed in my lap (or inbox, actually) from a friend, and it was as if it was made exactly for me since my two favorite albums of last year were "Brothers" from The Black Keys and "Sir Lucious Left-Foot" from Big Boi.
This isn't a typical half-assed mash-up project where someone took acapellas and slammed it on top of an instrumental. Wick-It has cut up, re-arranged, added layers, and completely melded these to albums into something freaking amazing.
Listen for yourself, and download for free (in FLAC and lossless too!).
