September is almost halfway over, and you know what that means? It's almost Haunted House season! There are quite a few in Central Ohio, and I just read that one of my favorites is relocating from Mt. Vernon to the Brewery District. House of Nightmares will be taking over the old "Bloody Brewery" warehouse location, and hopefully they'll be able to be just as creepy as their past locale.
Right now they're hiring actors and have an open call on Sept 17th from 1pm to 4pm. The haunted house will be open from Sept 22nd through Halloween.
What's your favorite Haunted House?

I loved House of Nightmares and hope to love this location too!
Although that old building in Mt. Vernon was just gorgoeous and had so much history!
hope they can keep it going though!

The hoochie was good a few years back but its the same thing every year. they haven't switched it up at all. i normally drive a little bit out of town for the real good ones.
i can't wait to go again this year.

i went on the site for the experience haunted attraction. Is it me, or are prices for things going way up?? $20 for that thing in Ostrander. I like the concept though.

oh my fault. That's for the "skip the line" entry. Reg. tickets are $8. much more affordable. I was going to say, $20 plus the cost of gas to get there, no thanks... Perhaps I'll check it out this weekend!

I was wondering if anyone is going to the Haunted Prison in Mansfield. Its a bit of a drive but it looks really cool. Its a bit of a drive but I am hoping it will be worth it. Even if it is a bust, I can at least say I have been to the Shawshank Redemtion prison. :D http://www.hauntedx.com/
I did go to the House of Nightmares last weekend. It wasn't the best haunted house ever but it was better than terror park. Plus I only paid $10 with the coupon.

I went to the haunted Prison last year. It's your normal average haunted house with props and chainsaw guys. With that said it was cool just to be in the building and see some of the cells and stuff. The line was fast because you go through in groups of what seemed like 15 or 20 people. That kinda ruined a lot of the scare because you have people all around you most of the time.

Checked out House of Nightmares last night and it was lots of fun!
I will say though, that I had a better time in its old location, RIP, but it was still fun in the Brewery District. If you have been on the fence about going, you should check this one out!

So they open tonight? Anyone going to any? This one is new and indoors http://www.scareatorium.com/ looks to be good. I wish I could find a close one with a hayride. If anyone knows of one please post it.

Tales from the Crypt at Green Lawn Abbey is more eerie than scary, but it's a lot of fun. I was surprised that I laughed as much as I did. They put a lot of humor into I that I hadn't expected. We had a great time there last year.
