1) Do you know the facts of this specific case or the parties involved? No. The SWAT team doesn't kick in doors for petty marijuana dealings.
-You're right...they thought there was going to be more pot there. The reason they thought there was going to be more pot there, btw, is because a couple of douchebags told them that this guy sold pot. Not because they had actually bought pot from him undercover, or had photographs or video of him selling pot.
2( Did you see what kind of dog was shot? Because I didn't. It might have been an attack trained pitbull for all you know.
-One was a pitbull...the other was a fucking CORGI.
3) Officers enforcing the law have a right to their safety. They don't know what kind of situation they're walking into when they enter someone's house to serve a COURT ORDERED search warrant. Perhaps you have a better suggestion as of how to be sensitive to animal rights when serving a high risk search warrant.
-First of all, a pot service isn't a high risk warrant IMO. The "suspect" had a history of two DUI's, no registered weapons, and no history of violence, drugs, or even felonies. Police were told by two "C.I.'s" that he had felony level quantities of pot in the house...that's it. "High Risk Warrant" is now used to describe virtually any drug warrant, and that's ridiculous. Second of all, I would suggest using more information than a couple snitches to determine what is going on in a house before kicking in the door and opening fire. Perhaps a controlled buy? Surveillance? You know, police work...
4) Don't compare this to police officers who killed an infant. Human life is far more precious than someone's dog
-to you.
