So, for some reason, in the last month, my telemarketer call volume has tripled--at the very least. All foreign. All incredibly annoying. None take no for an answer, and all use some kind of technology to randomize the numbers they're calling from (including from the nonexistent 777 area code). I take it they're beyond the reach of our do-not-call list.
Anyone found any effective ways of dealing with them other than changing my phone number?

I find acting crazy very effective.
If they are asking for a dontaion tell them you will take ten and ask them for a credit card. Pepper in exclimations of "Sham Wow!" "Billy Haze Mays" and "On Tuesday we get lime jello!" in every sentance.
The method I usually use the most is to speak to them in Japanese. I haven't run across a telemarketer from Japan yet.
With some places, if you hang up, they will call back.

I've started just hitting the "Ignore" button on my Blackberry every time I get a call from an unknown number, figuring that if it's important, they'll leave a voicemail--but I don't want to do that forever.
I'm already on the do-not-call list; the problem is that these telemarketers are almost all Indian or Filipino, so they just ignore it.
