I must say that this site is awesome. Lots of high quality music, discussions, performances, etc. Thanks for the tip. I would love to go to the convention.

Really awesome site. I would love to go to the actual event someday.
Louisville, KY of all places has some an event in the same ballpark called the http://www.ideafestival.com/, which looks really cool. I'm thinking of going and checking it out. I've never really been to Louisville and I'm sure it's a progressive, cool place, but it pisses me off that something this seemingly forward thinking is going on there instead of Columbus.

I actually might be very tempted to take time off from work to go to this convention next year; I was tempted to do it this year, but getting away from law school isn't so easy. One of my favorite YouTube videos ever, however, is a presentation by Hans Rosling at one of the recent TED conferences:
Definitely crams a lot more into one lecture than most of my profs ever managed.

Don't miss the stuff about Multitouch (Jeff Han)... it has spawned a lot of people working in new computer interfaces like nuigroup.com and libavg.de ...

Damn, if only it was free. I have a place to crash in Louisville but no $$ at all to get into this event (or get down there). Maybe next year.

Did anyone happen to watch the video of Helen Fisher on love....wow.

WOW. No joke, I think this is actually the coolest website I've ever been to. :D I did watch the love piece. Liked her analysis of the three separate, but coexisting levels of attraction.
The Swedish guy's demographics presentation totally blew me away...

Yeah, I had never heard of this site before. I am addicted now. I wish it was possible to still get tickets for the 08 conference.
