Tea43206 is the inaugural garden party to benefit designated historic preservation funds at the German Village Society. The event is 4 - 7 p.m., Saturday August 27, 2011 at the German Village Guest House, 748 Jaeger St, Columbus 43206.
The highlight of Tea43206 will be a hat contest judged by David Thielebeule, Accessories Director for Allure magazine. A silent auction will feature a purse created by German Village artist Sandy Kight, a tennis racket signed by US Open winner Andy Roddick, a framed original cartoon by German Village resident Jeff Stahler, a hat donated by NYC milliner and Chanel apprentice Gigi Burris and also a hat from Granville Millinery Company’s Amy Hamilton.
Other auction items include gift certificates to Market Blooms and German Village Guest House, massages and spa items from Betsy Cornell, LMT, and bottles of exclusive Oregon Pinot and Veuve Clicquot wines, with more items coming in daily. Surprise celebrity guests will be present for photo opportunities with guests. Guests will be feted with teas, wine, sweet and savory hors d’oeuvres and pastries. All men and women are encouraged to wear festive garden party attire and fabulous hats!
“This event is an exciting new addition to the German Village Society’s calendar because it benefits historic preservation, the core of our mission, and will also be great fun which is also a part of the German Village Society,” said Mike Yarbrough, President, German Village Society Board.
Proceeds of the event will be used for items currently not covered by the German Village Society historic preservation budget such as comprehensive signage, publishing historic preservation education materials, and archive management.

German Village Guest House is the presenting sponsor, Lasting Impressions event rentals is the event sponsor. Other sponsorships are still available at the $250, $500 and $750 levels.
German Village was established as a historic district in the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 and was honored by the White House as a Preserve America Community in 2008.
