Although I live downtown, I work in Powell (crazy, I know!) and have come to know a lot of the little restaurants off of Sawmill Parkway. One that I stumbled across by accident is Swade's VegG Express. The place is always deserted, so I thought I had better check it out quick before it went out of business.
It's actually pretty good. I think they are primarily a caterer, which explains how they can stay open with little foot traffic. They have a funky way of doing their menu --each day there is a new fixed menu for a multiple course lunch or dinner. The meals repeat on a two week rotation. The food is Indian influenced.
The price is pretty low for what you get --$6.99 is a box lunch with seven small dishes. I had leftovers from mine, which is very rare with my appetite.
So far I've been there twice, both times on a Thursday. The first meal I had was incredible --it included tomato soup, an eggplant salad, and several other great dishes. The second meal was much less impressive --I can't remember the specifics, but there was too much black pepper in the main entree.
That said, it's worth checking out, especially if you're a vegetarian. I'm not, but I didn't miss the meat. I'd also definitely keep them in mind if I needed a vegetarian caterer for an event.
