OK... I'm graduating from OSU (finally) this Sunday and after the ceremony my parents want to take me out to dinner.

I would like somewhere a little nicer than I usually go (for reference - Lessner places and Bodega, usually) because, hey, it's a big deal and they're paying.

BUT EVERYWHERE, SERIOUSLY EVERYWHERE, I have thought of is freaking closed on Sunday. Basi Italia, most of the nicer places in Grandview, etc etc.

At this point I am thinking I will have to settle for Marcella's or the Rossi. I'm not sure about Marcella's because I've never been there and I hear some iffy things. And I can't remember if the Rossi is even open on Sunday or what time their dinner service starts.

HELP PLEASE. Where would you go with 5 people on a Sunday evening for a nice dinner?

I had the same problem back in January, picking "fine dining" restaurants on a Sunday evening in this town SUCKS. I picked Haiku back in January and had one of the worst meals of my life... it was bad, I wish I had just went to Surly Girl.

I'm with brothermarcus.. avoid Haiku..

Tratoria Roma is ok. The food is good, but it doesn't always blow me a way.. I like the Rossi (I like Chef Michael's specials, so make sure he's working).

aside from that, I got nothing..

Barcelona! They opened the patio today...not sure how the weather looks for Sunday though.

From their site: We are open for dinner Sunday thru Thursday 5:00pm - 10:00pm and Friday thru Saturday 5:00pm - 11:00pm.

So it looks like yes, they're open.

Trattoria Roma has one of the best apps ever: polenta with sage cream. Their bread is just so-so, but excellent service and good wines. It's also a nice "parent" place.
